Tutorial 2: Digital Cameras use and aplication

In class we talked about digital cameras verse old film cameras. We discussed wehther there is there any advantages of to using a digital camera or a older particular one, through the discussion we fou a, and vise versa. I belive there are both positives and negative about both the digital cameras and the old styled ones.
The film based cameras (older cameras) brang back memories which i had breifly forgotten about. I was reminded of that exsiting suprise of what you were to get when you went t pick up the photos at the camera shop with mum. An advantage of the film based cameras also mean that you always have a copy of the photos. Compared to the digital cameras where photos are stored on the computer and you can choose the photos you want developed. With digital cameras you can delete the photos that you don't want to print, this meaning you never have to take a bad photo.
You need batteries in both film and digital cameras. with film cameras you need to buy film each time you develop a new film of photos. where as with digital cameras they just need a memory sticks. with digital images, they can be stored, and manipulated using a laptop. Photos can be emailed to friends or family. they can also be uploaded to share on sites such as bebo, facebook, flicker and myspace. Photos can be manipulated using photo shop to change the photo although digital photos are easy to take, transfer and manipulate, there are many ethical issues that need to be taken into consideration.
When Occupational Therapists (OT) take photos of clients or their equipment and how to use it informed consent is often needed.
With cameras on phones people are able to take photos in different situations where cameras may not be allowed, or where approprite, this has, and will continue to be a problem in todays society, whereations are breached.
Because of the increase in technology photos are more regularly being used in occupational therapy practice. Community OTs take photos when they are taking part in activity's to document and show the clients activities within a group. photos are also used to show how clients are seated in wheel chairs.
